At St. Regis Los Cabos The Residences, the project draws inspiration from Mexico’s cultural heritage and the legacy of Mesoamerican civilizations. The stepped fret pattern of Mitla, Oaxaca, serves as the conceptual foundation, bringing one of Mexico’s most representative architectural symbols into a contemporary setting.

Throughout the development, ancestral geometry is reinterpreted into modern patterns that are integrated at different scales and across multiple architectural elements. The stepped fret is adapted while preserving its essential components, creating a visual language incorporated into ornamental details, environmental graphics, and the wayfinding system. One of its most representative applications is the beach club frieze, where the pattern connects the architecture with the surrounding landscape.
