Our Story
and Legacy

A legacy shaped by architecture. A vision in constant evolution.
From its origins in Mexico, GVI has grown through a belief that architecture can unite strategy, artistic expression, and human experience. Across generations, that vision has evolved, expanding our global reach while preserving the passion, rigor, and creative spirit at the heart of the firm.
Where the line began
Founded in 1962 by José Manuel Gómez Vázquez Aldana, GVI was built on a vision of architecture as both a rigorous discipline and a poetic expression.
From the beginning, each line carried intention: to give form to spaces with character, meaning, and the power to enrich the way people experience life.
More than six decades later, those foundations continue to shape the firm. They established not only an architectural practice, but a distinct way of understanding design, rooted in artistic sensitivity, technical precision, and a deep connection to people and place.
A legacy in
constant evolution
In the decades that followed 1962, the firm expanded its knowledge, scale, and architectural reach. GVI deepened its expertise in hospitality and master planning while developing an increasingly diverse body of work across residential, mixed-use, sports, and cultural projects.
This legacy was never understood as something static. New generations brought different perspectives, technologies, and ways of designing, while carrying forward the same architectural pulse: a commitment to artistic expression, human experience, and the ability to make ambitious ideas real.
One vision
Global reach
In 2013, GVI entered a new stage of international growth, expanding its presence across the Americas and Europe. This evolution strengthened our ability to combine global knowledge with local sensitivity, responding to different markets, cultures, and ways of living without imposing a predetermined architectural language.

Heritage in motion
Strategy becomes
artistic expression
Today, GVI brings together generations of experience with Creative Dialogue and Strategic Thinking to define what each project needs to become. The knowledge inherited from the past does not limit the future; it gives us the foundation to question, explore, and transform.
Strategy becomes artistic expression. Ideas become architecture. Architecture becomes an experience that is lived, felt, and remembered.
"The harmonious interplay of constructive elements that, through poetic expression, define spaces where the spirit prevails."
