Where the line
began

Founded in 1962 by José Manuel Gómez Vázquez Aldana, GVI was built on a vision of architecture as both a rigorous discipline and a poetic expression. From the beginning, each line carried intention: to give form to spaces with character, meaning, and the power to enrich the way people experience life.

More than six decades later, those foundations continue to shape the firm. They established not only an architectural practice, but a distinct way of understanding design, rooted in artistic sensitivity, technical precision, and a deep connection to people and place.

In the decades that followed 1962, the firm expanded its knowledge, scale, and architectural reach. GVI deepened its expertise in hospitality and master planning while developing an increasingly diverse body of work across residential, mixed-use, sports, and cultural projects.

In 2013, GVI entered a new stage of international growth, expanding its presence across the Americas and Europe. This evolution strengthened our ability to combine global knowledge with local sensitivity, responding to different markets, cultures, and ways of living without imposing a predetermined architectural language.
